Southern Baptist convictions

What We Believe

We gladly stand within the historic Southern Baptist tradition. Scripture is our final authority, the local church belongs to Christ, and every believer is called to worship, serve, witness, and grow in grace.

The Authority of Scripture

The Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word. It is the final standard for belief and practice.

God and Salvation

There is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We practice believer’s baptism by immersion as an act of obedience and observe the Lord’s Supper as a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice.

The Local Church

A church is a regenerate body of baptized believers. Under Christ’s lordship, each congregation is autonomous and responsibly governed by its members.

Believers and Religious Liberty

Every believer has direct access to God through Christ and the responsibility to read Scripture, follow conscience, and serve faithfully. Church and state should remain distinct.

Mission and Cooperation

Every Christian and every church is called to make disciples of all nations. We voluntarily cooperate with other Southern Baptist churches to advance the gospel.

Baptist Faith and Message 2000

As a Southern Baptist congregation, we affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as a faithful summary of our shared convictions. The Bible alone remains our supreme and final authority.
